Shimla is the State Capital of Himachal Pradesh, with its population around 1.6 lacs (Shimla town). It was the Summer Capital of India under the British rule. From Delhi, the driving time is about eight hours from Delhi, Manali and Chandigarh, luxry coaches and taxis ply to shimla.
